The Baptist Churches of NSW and ACT are pleased to launch the Safe Church Health Check as a resource to assist churches in implementing the many changing legal responsibilities.
The Safe Church Health Check is structured around the ten Child Safe Standards which were recommended by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse and supported by the Council of Australian Governments. NSW and ACT governments have indicated their intention to legislate the Child Safe Standards for all organisations providing services to children.
A suite of model resources has also been released. The Safe Church Health Check application form and Safe Church Package model resources are available at creatingsafespaces.org.au/resources.
