Creating Safe Spaces – Zoom Workshop

February 4, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

$25.00

Whilst COVID-19 restrictions continue our usual face to face workshop will take place via Zoom.

Zoom is a free platform which can be used on PC, Mac, tablet or smartphone. Many of you may already have used Zoom but if you have not, please be assured that it is an easy to use platform to allow online engagement and training. After registering you will be sent an email which will explain how to join the Zoom training room at the designated time.

The workshop is intended to provide training on Safe Church principles and practices.

Anyone is welcome to participate in Creating Safe Spaces training. Some staff and volunteers are required to complete Creating Safe Spaces training every three years. This includes pastors, elders, deacons,  ministry leaders,  children’s/youth teams, SRE teachers and anyone who works with vulnerable people.

This workshop will cover:

  • The impact of power: positional power, transparency and accountability

  • Protecting vulnerable people: including children at risk of harm

  • Reporting responsibilities and procedures – definitions, indicators and legal requirements

  • Information about training, recruiting and supervising leaders

Attendees are expected to have completed the online module prior to attending this Zoom workshop. The online module is $10 per person and will be available from mid-January 2021.
